Can I Customise My Nomadic Off-Road Camper?

Nomadic keeps their production process efficient and cost-effective by limiting customisations but you can still choose upgrades for key systems. Options include:

  • 240V electrical systems
  • Some 12V systems
  • Heating & access controls

For the best advice, speak with our team at Patto’s RV Centre. We are the exclusive Nomadic Off-Road Camper dealer in Geelong. We’ll guide you through available options and, if you’re considering post-delivery modifications, help you understand what upgrades are suitable for your camper.

Who Is Nomadic Off-Road Campers?

Nomadic Off-Road Campers is a proudly Australian, family-owned company based on the Sunshine Coast and founded by Adam and Karen Mathieson. With over 30 years of adventure experience and 14 years in the caravan industry and we love their philosophy; build durable, off-road-ready campers made for Australian conditions.

Every model is designed in their showroom using advanced CAD engineering programs, then tested and refined before hitting production.

Where Are Nomadic Off-Road Campers Made?

Nomadic campers are designed in Australia, with chassis, body, and cabinetry constructed under licence overseas. But here’s the key difference: all critical components are fitted and tested locally at their Sunshine Coast factory, ensuring strict quality control and Aussie workmanship.

What’s Installed in Australia?

  • Chassis, drive & suspension systems: bearings, brakes, hubs, wheels, jockey wheel, trailer plug, Anderson plugs.
  • Electrical & gas systems: all fitted and tested by licensed Australian electricians and gas plumbers.
  • 12V systems & accessories: solar, air conditioning, TVs, hatches, awnings, and more installed by Australian tradespeople.

The “Second Stage Manufacturing” process supports local jobs and guarantees a premium-quality final product.

How Long Will It Take to Build My Camper?

At Patto’s RV Centre in Geelong, we work closely with Nomadic to manage your order from start to finish. From the time you pay your deposit, build times are typically 12–18 weeks, depending on the season and factory schedules. How ‘Off-Road’ Are Nomadic Campers?

Nomadic Off-Road Campers are built for true off-road adventures and have been tested in some of Australia’s toughest conditions. The only real limitation is you and where you’re willing to take them.

Of course, even the toughest camper needs regular care. That’s why every Nomadic comes with a detailed maintenance program, including recommended annual servicing. Can My Car Tow a Nomadic Camper?

Many vehicles can tow a Nomadic, but it’s essential to check:

  • Your vehicle’s towing capacity (see your owner’s manual).
  • The camper’s ATM (Aggregate Trailer Mass).
  • Tow ball weight rating.
  • GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass) and GCM (Gross Combination Mass).

Not sure? Bring your vehicle details into Patto’s and we’ll help you confirm compatibility.

Do I Need Electric Brakes?

Yes, all Nomadic Off-Road Campers and Caravans require an electronic brake controller to be fitted in your tow vehicle. We recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro for reliability.

You’ll also need an Anderson Plug for charging while driving. Both must be installed by a licensed auto electrician.
